Hi Folks!

We are currently putting together a brand new alt.binaries search engine.
We believe our website is the strongest alt.binaries header archive there is
and we would like to hear from you about it.

What do you like, dislike? What improvement could be made?

The URL is: http://www.bincrawler.com

Thank you!

The BC Marijuana Party is playing a major role in bringing about the law changes in Canada that makes marijuana
possession in Ontario completely legal today and will make pot possession and use in all of Canada legal soon. The US
Marijuana Party, with help from the BC Marijuana Party, is striving to accomplish the same thing here in the US. We
need you to help make legalization a reality in the US. If you want to help check out http://usmjparty.com/ and act
accordingly

Carl I think you should blow it out your ass. I dont want a damn
thing I put on usenet on any website, so to improve it you need to
recycle that thought and start a newserver if you wanna archive
headers.

You _asked_ for an opinion, googlemeister.

Couldn't agree more. The fucking RIAA would love yet another 'One
Stop Shop' to find what's being posted where.

. If it is a fee based service, then it won't be any different than
what Easynews has done with their global search function.

Is this something you intend to resell to various NSPs since it really
is a very clean interface and something that could benefit many
surfers, particualry those new to usenet.

On the other hand, if you intend to make it free to use in an
advertising supported model, then I would object to it. Enhancing
usenet's popularity with a free search engine for the Kazaa kiddies
will attract unwanted attention from the authorities.

You're assuming the RIAA etc are aware of the Easynews search function
- or more to the point - were *not* aware of it, until now.

I think the RIAA, MPAA, etc are aware of Easynew's search engine and
web interface. Certainly, Suze Randall and APIC (Association for the
Protection of Internet Copyright) are aware of it, or else Godzilla
would not have removed the Suze Groups from the web based interface.

Fence sitting hardly. It depends on their business model. A binary
news site that just archives headers is bad for usenet as we both
agree, while a web based search engine used by a NSP would not be
harmful. I can't tell which business model they intend to follow,
since the website does not provide any information except listing
mybinaries.com as a sponsor. I think mybinaries.com is part of the
NNTPserver family, so this could be a front end for those newservers.

Matis,

Not now, but you can see all files from a group by clicking the group name,
or all files by the poster by clicking on his name/email.

What a 100% arsehole you are. If your site doesn't give enough info
already - you're even tracking posters for the RIAA, and has been
said, ignoring the rights of people not to have their posts archived.
Even M$ honours the XNA header.

I wonder that the crack groups will think of that.

Do you -really- think the feds are unaware of the newsgroups? Really? Come
on! A search engine won't change a thing. We purge old posts after about 3
weeks since retention is never that long anyway.

If you don't like bincrawler.com, don't use it! It's that simple!

My 2¢

Your 2c - arsehole - it's your fucking site. You have no right to
archive posts made where the poster has made a point of not wanting
them archived.
Let's hope your sponsor - mybinaries - loses a lot of custom.

And you are ignoring the issue of the x-no-archive still, right?
